Light Up St. Matthews

Light Up St. Matthews has been a tradition for decades for thousands of residents and visitors to St. Matthews. This year the annual celebration launching the holiday season is continually expanding holiday fun by adding new displays annually.

Light Up St. Matthews begins Saturday December 1st at 3 p.m. with the customary arrival of Santa Clause with delicious cookies and hot chocolate, a live DJ, will play your holiday favorites and your children, or the child inside of you will enjoy the many reindeer games, pictures with Santa, activities for the kids, and fun for the entire family. At 6 PM the event concludes with Santa and the Honorable Mayor of St. Matthews turning on the lights throughout the park.

The lights will stay lit until after the New Year and visitors are welcome to attend the park throughout that time to enjoy the lights. The event is held at Brown Park in St. Matthews, located on Kresge Way right next to Baptist Hospital East, it is an easy access park. All activities start under the big tent. Parking for the event will be at 4007 Kresge Way, a part of the Baptist Health Louisville Campus directly across from the hospital.
